Robert F Anderson

Robert F. Anderson was admitted to the South Carolina bar in 1974. Mr. Anderson is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Anderson received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Carolina, where he was also a member of Phi Delta Phi. He was appointed a panel trustee for Chapter 7 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina in 1979 and continues to hold that position today. He is also a founding member and former President of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees; a member of the Richland County and American Bar Associations; the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association. Mr. Anderson also co-authored the article "Look Before You Leap: Bankruptcy Tax Planning," 4 S.C. Law. 32 (1992). Mr. Anderson is a regular lecturer for various continuing legal education seminars and similar programs for banking and accounting professionals. Mr. Anderson is a bankruptcy law specialist, certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Marilyn Elaine Gartley

Marilyn Elaine Gartley practices in the area of bankruptcy and was admitted to the South Carolina bar in 2008. Prior to joining Anderson & Associates, P.A., Ms. Gartley served as a law clerk to the Honorable John E. Waites, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina. Ms. Gartley earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was a member of the student editorial staff of the ABA Real Property, Probate & Trust Journal. She also served as secretary for the American Constitution Society. In addition, Ms. Gartley was a research assistant for Professor Nathan M. Crystal and Professor David G. Owen. She was a recipient of CALI Awards in both Products Liability Research Seminar and Law and Literature. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy in 2004 from the University of South Carolina. In recognition of her achievements in the pursuit of her undergraduate degree, Ms. Gartley was awarded a scholarship to law school for her academic performance and service to the University. In 2004, Ms. Gartley also received the Environmental Stewardship Award. Ms. Gartley is a fitness enthusiast and in particular, enjoys running. Ms.Gartley also serves as a board member for Girls on the Run, which is a non-profit program that promotes physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development in girls in the third through eighth grades by combining training for a 5k run with lessons that inspire girls to recognize and honor their individual strengths and talents and to celebrate their innerselves.

Elke Watkins principally aids the Trustee in the administration of the bankruptcy cases assigned to him by the Office of the United States Trustee - from the liquidation of assets to compiling the financial reports required by law. Elke also assists with client support as needed. Elke is certified by the ABJA in the field of bankruptcy laws. She is fluent in German.

Lorjanth Folgar handles all of the Trustee's tasks relating to each debtor's Chapter 7 First Meeting of Creditors. Lorjanth assists in both commercial and consumer bankruptcy cases. Recently she has also taken on the role of bookkeeper and office manager. Lorjanth is fluent in Spanish.
